Sending huge Thanks to all of our wonderful runners for 2025 raising a fantastic £6,342

Simon Rumsby

I’m excited to be taking on the Reigate Half Marathon on 21st September. As a Democratic Services Officer at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, I’m looking forward to supporting one of the Mayor’s chosen charities this year Home-Start East Surrey.

I’ve set myself a running challenge this September: three races in just 15 days. After completing the Great North Run and the Richmond Marathon, Reigate will be the final test - and I’m determined to make it count by raising as much as possible for Home-Start.

James Heaton

It's my second time running Run Reigate, and I'm doing a half marathon for the first time in a sponsored run. I've only ever done 10K prior to this.

I'm excited about the challenge, and I've been keeping up with training as best I can. A highlight has been running around Schiphol airport in Amsterdam whilst staying there for work!

Angie Barton

‘Hello there, my name’s Angie. I’ve been a trustee for HSES since 2018. It’s a charity I’m passionate about knowing the incredible support it provides to families and children when they need it most. I wanted to dedicate running the 5k to raise vital funds to keep our important service going. I’d appreciate any donation you can make to help us carry on providing this necessary support. Thanks so much.’

"I’m excited to be running in support of Home-Start and the amazing work they do to help local families. I enjoy running, walking and cycling around Banstead Woods, and when I’m not outdoors and have a moment to myself, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, or brushing up on the languages I studied at school and university."

Adam Eaton

"Hello my name is Adam and I am the manager of Squires Garden Centre in Reigate. We have recently chosen Home-Start East Surrey as our charity partner of the year and I'm really excited to raise awareness and funds for such a great cause.

I am a novice runner having only run a 5k before but I am really looking forward to it!"

Anna & Andy Lewis

An athletic duo to rival the Brownlee brothers, or the Mccolgan's, well kind of...

Anna is taking on the Reigate Half as part of preparations for a first full marathon bid this October. A natural all-round sport-billy, Anna's first love is cricket - playing for Sussex Women and coaching for Surrey. She's heading to Uni this autumn to commence studies to become a PE teacher and inspire the next generation to get active.

Having spent years dreaming of rivalling Mo Farah, Andy is entering the race to prove to Anna there's still life in the old man. With past marathon glories long forgotten, this is Andy's second Reigate Half bid with memories of the painful climb in the last mile still vivid.

Aine Elshaw

I'm Áine, and I am originally from Galway on the west coast of Ireland!  Over 16 years ago, I attended a post-natal course that was run by Home-Start East Surrey, and it was hugely beneficial.  I love to run and am a member of Great Outdoor Fitness and also Reigate Priory Athletic Club.  I love Reigate and especially Reigate's Priory Park where I spend a lot of time exercising and dog-walking!  I have three children, two busy jobs, and I live in Redhill with my partner Jon!

Joining the Run Reigate challenge on behalf of CBSbutler are Hannah, Chloe, and Sam – not regular runners but determined to train hard and cross that 5k finish line!

As parents with young families themselves, this cause is especially close to their hearts. They’re proud to be running in support of Home-Start East Surrey, helping local families when they need it most.

Tom

Tom is a father of two, personal trainer with a love of all things physically demanding!

Nick Chadwick

I work as a Training Manager for the Reigate based company Train Aid who deliver first aid and teacher training courses nationwide.

I have worked as a College Teacher at Reigate Sixth Form College and play Hockey for Reigate Priory Hockey Club.

I enjoy running and being part of a community. The opportunity to support local charities provides great motivation to complete events.

I have previously completed the Brighton Marathon raising money for YMCA Easy Surrey to help build a new community sports hall.

Edel Magee

This will be my third year as a Home-Start volunteer and I have loved working with many local families during this time - either one to one or at the wonderful support groups run by the HS team.

As a busy mum with three children I am passionate about exercise and the benefits it can bring to body and mind. This September I will be competing in Tri Reigate (a sprint triathlon - 750m swim, 20km bike ride, 5km run) and Run Reigate (half marathon) on consecutive weekends to raise funds for Home-Start East Surrey.

Thank you for your kind donation!

Run Reigate 2025 - £6342 raised!

On Sunday 21st September, we were thrilled to have an incredible team of runners who took part in Run Reigate raising an impressive £6342 for local families. For many, it was their first experience of such an event, all in support of our local charity. We are truly grateful for their dedication! On the day, we hosted a stall featuring a popular Tombola, a fun game to guess the Jellycat Penguin's birthday, and a variety of treats for all who stopped by.

It was heartwarming to reconnect with families we've assisted in the past and to meet new faces eager to learn more about our services. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated or supported us in making Run Reigate a resounding success!

Congratulations to Noah for correctly guessing the Penguin's birthday.

As we look ahead to next year, we are excited to announce that we will be expanding our activities and introducing new events. We hope to inspire even more participants to join us in our mission to support local families. Stay tuned for updates on how you can get involved and make a meaningful difference in your community. Together, we can create lasting change and continue to provide essential support for those in need.
