COUNCIL VIPS AT HOME-START EAST SURREY AGM

Sally Marks, Chairman of the Surrey County Council, (extreme left in photo), was guest of honour at the recent Annual General Meeting of Home-Start East Surrey. Mrs Marks is also patron of Home-Start which is  local support charity organisation based in Redhill. She was welcomed to the event by Lynne Martin (third from left) who is Chairman of the charity organisation as well as Chairman of Home-Start Surrey.

Home-Start train volunteers who visit families in their own homes to help them cope with the stresses and strains of bringing up a young family when things get tough. They help parents build better lives for their children in Redhill, Reigate, Tandridge, Oxted, Horley and with a recent expansion into Dorking and parts of the Mole Valley district.

In order to give children the best possible start in life, Home-Start help young families going through difficult times, whether because of bereavement, illness or disability of the child or the parent, post-natal depression, family breakdown, loneliness and isolation, or stress in coping with a number of young children.
